Brianna LaPaglia shares her unsolicited opinion.
“No tea, no shade, no hate, just some field research,” the influencer, 26, began in a TikTok video Tuesday. “Every single girl I know is on Ozympic. People who don’t need Ozympic. It’s like if I did Ozympic. Can I lose a pair? Sure. Do I need Ozympic? No!”
LaPaglia had an urgent warning for those who use drugs without reason: “You’re going to die. You’re all going to die.”
Ozempic is a GLP-1 injection used to treat type 2 diabetes. However, it is widely recommended for weight loss.
Using GLP-1 when needed may have serious side effects, including gallbladder and kidney problems, according to Baptist Health.
LaPaglia has previously opened up about her struggles with disordered eating.
“I had an eating disorder because of anxiety, where I was always nuts,” she explained during the “Real Pod” podcast in February. “Every time I ate something, I would throw it up.”
“I would avoid food at all costs because I knew it would make me sick, or I was so tired all the time. [because of] My worry is that I can’t eat,” the social media star added.
LaPaglia hit “rock bottom” in 2023, when she was at her lowest weight ever.
“People were scared. Every time I went home, my family was like, ‘Oh, my God,'” LaPaglia recalled. “I was anemic from it, I had bruises all over, and it was really, really hard when you’re on it for so long, your body just gets used to it, and when I finally got over all that anxiety or I was able to look at myself in the mirror and the way I looked, [it] It was just so unhealthy.”
Despite trying to develop a “healthy relationship” with food, LaPaglia didn’t make a connection between her eating habits and anxiety.
“It actually developed, without me realizing it, an eating disorder that I didn’t know how to navigate. [or] What to do with it,” she said.
After gaining 25 pounds back, LaPaglia was at what she considered a “healthy weight.”
“It didn’t happen overnight,” she continued. “Once I found out, I was like, ‘Holy shit, this is what happens to you.’ It took me four or five months to get back to a healthy weight or back to a healthy mind.”
“It was a king process,” LaPaglia admitted. “Slowly but surely, obviously with anything you do over time, it’s gotten better.”
Meanwhile, despite the fact that the drug is Ozympic-free, many A-listers are open about using the weight-loss drug.
Amanda Bynes revealed last December that she lost 28 pounds at the Olympics, while Vanessa Williams told Hello! The magazine revealed in January that she has been battling menopausal weight gain with Monjaro for the past two years.
“It’s a game changer,” the 62-year-old actress said. “When I turned 60, I was like: ‘I want to be here for a long time, and I want to look my best, so what am I going to do?’
Brooks Nader has spoken about the use of weight loss drugs on several occasions, revealing in her “Love Ty Nader” fact, “I usually microdose GLP-1.”
After the show aired, Nadir, 29, told Us Weekly: “I still believe in myself and my journey with it every day. It’s different now.”
